Frequently asked questions

What is a Holistic Nutritionist?

The philosophy of holistic nutrition is that one’s health is dependent on their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N.) I approach health from a whole person perspective: mind, body, and spirit. Each person is biochemically unique, and therefore, each person may require a unique diet, supplements, and lifestyle habits to support their health and wellness goals. I work with clients by empowering them to make unique changes to their health, to feel healthy, happy and vibrant.

Are Holistic Nutritionists covered by health insurance plans?

Some private health insurance plans cover Holistic Nutritionists either under the paramedical practitioner section, or as added funds to your account. Please contact your insurance provider or HR department to confirm coverage for Holistic Nutritionists. I will provide a receipt referencing my practitioner number for partial or full reimbursement by your insurance company.

Tell me about your education and background

I graduated from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree, major in sociology in 2007 (also played varsity soccer), then worked in corporate Human Resources for eight years before going on to complete my diploma in Holistic Nutrition (top of my class) at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2016. I have spent the majority of my life researching fibromyalgia and how the body functions, specifically understanding the root cause of illness (rather than quick fixes), and therefore, how to address those root causes, and manage illness naturally, through food, supplements and lifestyle habits. My true passion is leading a holistic lifestyle myself, constantly researching, and supporting clients to feel better, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
