The Perfect Morning Routine

I don’t know about you, but I will never get tired of our hot Canadian summers. The heat helps reduce chronic pain, improve fatigue, and boost your mood! I am so sad to see summer of 2023 go!

Having a healthy morning routine can work wonders for your mind and body. Check out what we did for ours this summer:

  • Wake up after a decent, restful sleep (without taking medication, supplements, or sleep teas - it’s possible!)

  • Walk around / stretch (this helps reduce any stiffness - our bodies are meant to move)

  • Get Emma’s breakfast ready

  • Make a cup of bone broth (my favourite lately is Bone Brewhouse - 15% discount code found on my IG account)

  • Sit out in the sun enjoying said bone broth (Emma joins me as well, she knows the importance of fresh air!)

  • Take a few supplements (lately my go to has been liver capsules, magnesium and collagen)

  • Ground my feet / body in the grass

  • Go for a nature walk

  • Read a chapter from a self-help book (right now, I’m reading “How to do the work”)

  • Eat a nutrient dense, nourishing brunch, focusing on meat protein and local in season fruits and veg (after fasting for about 12-16 hours)

  • Get the day going with Emma - play date, park, mini adventure, practice reading / writing / math, go to the library, you name it

Here’s why this routine helped me immensely:

  • The morning sun has been helping my body’s natural circadian rhythms, creating melatonin for later that night

  • The bone broth provides vital protein, collagen and other nutrients necessary for healing the gut

  • The grounding…well, grounded my energy!

  • The fresh air and exercise felt like a form of calming meditation

  • Reading nourished my brain and soul

  • Nutrient dense meals helped reduce my fibromyalgia symptoms (chronic pain, fatigue, stiffness, insomnia, etc.)

What does your morning routine look like? Do you take time to listen to your body, or are you in too much of a rush? Are there areas where you could improve? Let’s chat about it! Send me a message!

Cheers to finally feeling good!
